"Vice Versa"

My love for Steven Klein is evergrowing and the January Vogue issue just validates my obsession with this amazing photographer.
The models Amber Valletta and Shalom Harlow adopt androgyny roles in the shoot creating a dynamic interpretation allowing the colours, patterns and their beauty to flourish through the lense.
Steven Klein he's done it again, created beauty in his own way.

New Found Love

Having read Notions interview with Labrinth I've definitely fallen in love. Finally a musician not relying on the lyric writers and music composers to produce his music. Labrinth's (Birth name Timothy Mcenzie, but let's ignore that surname) Christian upbringing has allowed him to appreciate music and become rebellious in the music style he appreciates.
Enough with the formality, let's face it the way he dresses is more than enough to make girl's knees tremble!

I HAVE A DREAM...

So erm yeah like all Fashion obsessed weirdos everyone wants to end up at the BIG LDN. But not only do they want to be in London, they want to be at CSM. Not to mention the other renowned unis. I am guilty, I am one of this clan. The architecture old and new, symbolising fashion today, catwalk teamed with vintage. BTW FOLKS I'VE DECIDED PROMOTION OVER ILLUSTRATION. I couldn't imgaine just sat drawing - as much as I love illustrating I need a bit of pro-action (is that a word or have I made it up?). Anyway I love anything about fashion as long as it doesn't invlove those bloody sewing machines.

I HAVE A DREAM TO BE A FASHION EDITOR

I HAVE A DREAM TO BE FASHION

Photography - Levis

This image was take whilst shooting for Levis inspired project, promoting the denim I had adapted and customised. I originally was inspired by Lara Stone an extremely edgy model, however i've just noticed the uncanny resemblance between Kate Moss and my model Sophie Olive-Calver.

Pointed bras, yay or nay?!

The beautiful Persian DJ and singer Yasmin Shahmir is always styled to a T. I've always envied the Madonna pointed bra she rocks within her music video finishline amongst the other great pieces. Having read Notion magazine this month a fashion shot included this pointed bra; as its worn in up and coming film 'My Week with Marilyn - I definitely got excited inside for both the bra number and film... heres the link if you've been trying to track one down too! http://www.whatkatiedid.com/

Hello there Steven Klein! Heard on the gravepine you like the devils nakey?

The intriguing photographer Steven Klein is renowned for pushing the boundaries, shocking all who comes across his statement nude work. Klein's photography isn't constrained by the norm of fashion photography, but sets the standards, making the world of fashion photography a jealousy game. The bringing of homosexuality and transgender nudity to the forefront shows society the gruel reality of today, purely whethere they like it or not.

Lara Stone and Steven Klein go hand in hand; Klein being weird yet wonderful and Stone having no problem with getting her kit off. Together they juxtapose beauty with hideosity. Klein's seven deadly sins photo shoot published in Vogue Paris 2010 featuring Lara Stone, in which he flourished in the storyline; portrayed blood, sex and violence. The murder Klein gets away with is uncanny; sinister poses, fully male nudity and the horror of it all changing how fashion is percieved - changing fashion photography. Fashion is a ticking timeline, constantly developing and never knowing what impends within the next hour. Klein is this, Klein is our surprise.

Though other fashion photographers alike Klein, such as Mert&Marcus, legendary Mario Testino and Steven Meiler create work ultimately with the same characteristics as his, they do not mirror the extreme Klein goes to - creating controversy that cleverly is remembered. Steven Klein in a nutshell; you'll never flick through your fashion bible, walk past that ad or glance at a blog without stopping and envying his incredibly bizarre piece of art.

Knitting Shmitting..

Project #1 - Yarnbombing
The first module entails knitting up a college tree. Sania Rykiel's weird, yet wonderful collection pushed me towards a ginger voodoo theme; bright orange & dead dolls! The yarnbombed trees will be on display at the Faculty Fair/Fareham College open evening on October 5th - no pressure.
